📚 Academic Tutor Application

Tutors are expected to provide a high-quality & standardised teaching experience for classes of maximum 6 students over 10 week periods (one term) using class content provided by NL English Academy. This includes:
- Minimum 4h of teaching each week (2 classes)
- Homework marking for each student (compensated additionally, approximately 1h/week)
- Feedback for parents throughout the term (compensated additionally)
- Termly compulsory performance evaluations and ad-hoc updates (approx 30mins/term)
- Understanding every student individually to guide them on their learning journey and towards their study goals in OC, Selective & High School English
- Helping students develop study habits, exam technique and understanding of the content
- Building 'mentor' relationships with all students to ensure they are supported, cared for and that no student is left behind
- Marking and providing various types of student feedback
- Provide parents with individual student feedback

- Typical hourly rate: $50–$65/hour (depending on class size)
- Top performers: Up to $80+/hour

MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIA
- Previously attended either one of the following schools: James Ruse HS, North Sydney Boys HS, North Sydney Girls HS, Baulkham Hills HS, Sydney Boys HS, Sydney Girls HS, Hornsby Girls HS or Normanhurst Boys HS
- 98.00+ ATAR or Band 6 English Advanced HSC course mark
- Prior experience teaching OC, Selective or High School English

- Excellent communication, empathy, EQ and charisma
- Exceptional written communication skills & highly organised
