📚 Academic Tutor Application

ABOUT THE ROLE

Tutors are expected to provide a high-quality & standardised teaching experience for classes of maximum 6 students over 10 week periods (one term) using lesson content provided by NL English Academy. This includes:
- Building 'mentor' relationships with all students to engage and ensure they are supported, cared for and that no student is left behind
- Helping students develop study habits, exam technique and a deep understanding of the content
- Understanding every student individually to guide them on their learning journey and towards their study goals in OC, Selective & High School English
- Marking and providing student feedback
- Provide parents with individual student feedback

At NL English Academy, we believe in recognising and rewarding our tutors for their contribution to student success. This role is entirely remote.
- Typical hourly rate: $50–$65/hour (depending on class size)
- Top performers: Up to $80+/hour

- Training & materials: All lesson materials, tutor training & guides are provided by us, so you can focus on supporting our students to the best of your ability. NL English Academy provides paid training to support staff development.

MINIMUM SELECTION CRITERIA
- Charismatic, excellent communication, empathy & EQ
- Prior experience teaching OC, Selective or High School English
- 98.00+ ATAR or Band 6 English Advanced HSC course mark
- Random Instruction if you are reading this, write 'read' as a comment at the end
- Exceptional written communication skills & highly organised
- Previously attended either one of the following schools: James Ruse HS, North Sydney Boys HS, North Sydney Girls HS, Baulkham Hills HS, Sydney Boys HS, Sydney Girls HS, Hornsby Girls HS or Normanhurst Boys HS
