Key Responsibilities

Faculty Leads manage the teaching quality, satisfaction & retention outcomes across a subordinate pod of tutors; by:

- Ongoing coaching, monitoring, and setting the NL English Academy teaching model standard within your pod

- Leading hiring, training and ongoing development for new tutors under your pod supervision

- Shaping the pedagogy and internal process development to continually improve the NL Teaching Model

Who This Suits & Desirable Qualifications

- A currently qualified or aspiring Primary or Secondary Education teacher (you'll need your employer's permission for secondary employment)

- An experienced tutor with long term aspirations in continued tutoring or mentorship

- Prior experience leading a faculty, stage, committee, or team

- Familiarity with OC and Selective entry frameworks, or Secondary English expertise

Key Traits to Thrive

Pedagogy Expertise: Demonstrated depth of pedagogy expertise and English content knowledge appropriate for the target year level.

Passion for Education & Youth Mentorship: Innate passion and care for young students and team performance 

Team Performance Accountability: A proven track record of managing high operational and team standards, including direct experience holding team members accountable to performance expectations.

Communication: Strong interpersonal capabilities to deliver clear, objective, and constructive feedback.

Remuneration & Progression

Retainer: Calculated as base plus per every additional tutor under a Faculty Lead’s allocated pod, plus superannuation. The retainer is calculated at approximately $70 AUD per hour (reflecting designated evening and weekend hours)

Progressive Bands: The base and per-tutor rates are set by progressive bands. Progression to the next band occurs upon meeting KPI targets.

Working Pattern & Flexible Schedule

The Faculty Lead will nominate 3-4 regular weekly blocks totalling approximately 2-3 hours during more idle periods, and 6-8 hours during busier periods. At least one weekend block must be included. This role is structured to complement a full-time position and can be performed outside of standard business hours, specifically during evenings and weekends. The Faculty Lead is not required to be available during school or working hours. Remuneration reflects the designated evening and weekend hours.
