Tutor Replacement Request Form

It is an expectation for tutors to remain consistent in their allocated class time. If in any medical/family circumstance you cannot take your given class, proceed with the following steps.
Tutors must provide minimum 72 hours notice (3 full days) to inform us of your replacement request, otherwise you are expected to still take the class.
Given that we prioritise consistency for parents at NL English Academy, please note that your frequency of replacement classes will be tracked, directly impacting your opportunity for increased compensation adjustments based on KPI's & priority for new class allocations.
HOMEWORK MARKING RESPONSIBILITIES
For Term Program Replacements:
- The original tutor (you) are responsible for marking the homework for the lesson you missed. (e.g. If you requested for a replacement tutor for Week 6, you must still mark the Week 6 homework.)
- The replacement tutor will mark the prior week's homework. (e.g. If you requested for a replacement tutor for Week 6, the replacement tutor will mark the Week 5 homework.)
For Holiday Program Replacements:
- Both the original and replacement tutors are responsible for marking the homework after the lesson they taught.
IF YOU ARE REQUESTING A WEEK 1 REPLACEMENT [NOT AUTO APPROVED]:
- A justified reason must be provided if you are seeking replacement for Week 1. Week 1 is the most crucial week to build rapport and establish consistency with new students.
- Nelson will reach out directly to speak about your Week 1 replacement request, as it will not be automatically approved.
- Starting from Term 3 2026, tutors are paid 2h in Week 1 each term given that there is no previous week's homework to mark

IF YOU ARE REQUESTING A WEEK 10 REPLACEMENT:

- The replacement tutor will be compensated 2.5 hours for marking the Week 9 homework + adjudicating the live Week 10 exam.
- The original tutor remains responsible for marking the EOT exam for their own students.
This is because in Week 1, the original tutor was compensated 2.5 hours even though no previous lesson homework existed yet to mark.
Starting from Term 3 2026, tutors are paid 3h for Week 10 each term (to include EOT exam marking + previous week's HW marking).
- If a tutor requests a replacement in Week 10, the replacement tutor will be compensated 2.5h for marking Week 9 HW, and the original tutor will be required to still mark the EOT exam for their own students, compensated at 0.5h.
